As a creator in Blend Market, you are charged a platform fee based on the amount that you are charging the client excluding tax. This platform fee is deducted from the total paid by the client and the remainder transferred to your bank account.

For UK and EU companies we are also required to charge VAT (20%) on the platform fee. As a creator, we will send you an invoice for each platform fee that shows fee including any VAT that was charged.

Example for non-EU creators: On a £1,000 project, the platform fee (15%) would be £150.

Example for UK and EU creators: On a £1,000 project, the platform fee (15%) would be £150 and VAT on the platform fee is £30. As a creator, this £180 will be deducted from the money paid by the client before the balance is paid out to your bank account.

Calculating how much to charge the client

When you are creating a quote, we automatically calculate and show you the amount that you will be paid.

However, if you’d like to manually calculate the correct amount to charge the client based on what you’d like to be paid take a look at the following example.

Example for non-EU creators: You want to take home $1,000 for a project or milestone and your platform fee is 15%. The amount to charge the client is $1,000 / (1 - 0.15) = $1,176.47

Example for UK and EU creators: You want to take home £1,000 for a project or milestone and your platform fee is 15%. You will also be charged 20% VAT on the platform fee. The amount to charge the client is £1,000 / (1 - 0.18) = £1,219.51
