What is a virtual tour?

Selling experiences through storytelling and visual narratives is key in the travel industry. Our 360 virtual tours make it possible for interested travellers to get an authentic flavour of a destination and decide whether it is worth their time and money.

By allowing them to “try before you buy”, you are building trust and interest in your brand. Virtual viewings are a proven marketing method that help increase ‘look to book’ ratios by engaging your website visitors in interactive 360 experiences of your properties.

Creating 360 video and images

You need to have a 360 camera in order to capture videos and imagery in 360. Using a tripod is helpful to stabilise your shots, and you can always edit it out later with a program like Adobe.

It’s probably best to go with a camera that you can attach to a phone, as that makes it easier to upload and also does the stitching for you. Take a look at this article on our website about the best 360 cameras to invest in.

Uploading your own content in your virtual tour

Make full use of the existing assets you already have.  Insert your 2D images or videos, audio or text within your scenes.  You can upload 2D images up to a file size of 2MB, 2D videos up to a file size of 256MB and 360 videos up to a file size of 1GB.

Licensing travel content from Blend Media’s 360 stock library

Our market-leading 360 content library is integrated within the 360 Stories platform, which gives you access to over 15,000 videos and images to choose from. If you plan to use the Blend library to license content to use in your virtual tours, the Pro + Content plan may be the best value option for you.

You can purchase all our Royalty Free content directly from our website. If you are interested in purchasing content from our Rights Managed collection, please email sales@blend.media with a short description of what you plan to use the content for. Please make sure to include the following information in your brief:

  • What purpose the content will be used for (advertising/corporate/education, etc)
  • Which regions the content will be used in (one-off/local/global, etc)
  • How long you need to license the content for (6 months/3 years/perpetuity, etc)

Prices for Rights Managed licenses are determined according to how a customer plans to use the content. Once you provide us with this information, we will be able to send back a quote for how much the content is going to cost.
