If you want to create your own 360 background or customise existing equirectangular content, you can use applications such as Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Premiere to create and resize images and video.

Video & photos eligible for 360 Stories should have a maximum resolution of 4096 x 2048 to adhere to the limitations of most modern browsers.

If you intend on including a number of elements in one scene, we recommend selecting a background that is not too busy, allowing the viewer to focus on the assets they are meant to interact with.

If you do find your background too intense, you can add a colour layer in the 360 Stories Editor. To apply this overlay after uploading your Image / Video: Select Change 360 Background, scroll down to Background Colour, tick the option to apply to video/image and select from the colour palette.

If possible, select a 360 background with little to no erratic movement as you don’t want your audience to experience discomfort when immersed in your 360 story.

Videos must be encoded H.264 level 4.1 - 5.2. If your video is an invalid format, the application will let you know.

We recommend using .JPEG for photos to ensure the best quality to compression ratio.
